“Jesus He Knows Me” is the first song to be revealed from Ghost’s 2023 covers EP “Phantomime”. The band had used a marketing campaign, with the slogan “Jesus Is Coming”, to tease the single before it was released on Easter Sunday in 2023. Originally released by Genesis in 1992, the song acts as a satire towards TV preachers who use their position to sell the idea of God to other people for profit, themselves being corrupt and imperfect and not following their own teachings.
