Written in 1954 and released in 1955, "Hey Porter" was Johnny Cash''s first recording at Sun Records studios in Memphis Tennessee. It was paired with "Cry, Cry, Cry" on the B-Side of Cash''s first record and essentially launched his enormous career that would go on to span 5 decades and produces scores of hit songs.
