"Sad Girl" is about a woman who is in a painful relationship with a man who she loves, but is unfaithful to her. She is the other woman (mistress) who has the fire of passion and the comfort of money, but still finds herself heartbroken by his actions. She says, "His Bonnie on the side, Bonnie on the side, makes me a sad, sad girl", as a reference to his girlfriend as well as a reminder that she is not getting what she deserves from her relationship, despite her devotion.
