It was written by Sivan, Inscore, McLaughlin ,Hughes and Gaynor, and was produced by Inscore. In a track by track review with EMI, Troye explained the origins of the song "for him. is a song I only recently decided was going to make the album because it was a gift I was writing for someone and it’s very, very specific.
