Enema of the State
The title of “Wendy Clear” comes from Hoppus'' boat, named “Wendy,” and how boaters end transmissions by letting other boaters know the channel is open for use, or “clear.” Hoppus wrote the song while on tour with MxPx about having a crush on “someone that you are not supposed to like.” In this case it was specifically someone who worked at Blink-182’s then-record-label MCA. In a program for one of Blink’s tours around the time of Enema’s release, Tom left a brief annotation for each track. For “Wendy Clear”: Read more on Last.fm.
