"Music" is a song recorded by American singer Madonna for her eighth studio album, Music. It was written and produced by her and Mirwais Ahmadzaï, and released as the lead single from the album on August 21, 2000. A commercial success, it peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as other charts all over the world. The inspiration behind the track came from a Sting concert, where Madonna realised the effect that music has over people. The song’s music video was directed by Swedish director Jonas Åkerlund.
